The Beginnings of a Missions Movement

Have you heard about what is happening in Universities around the States? Young people are repenting and committing their lives to Jesus Christ. God is moving. 

We have seen things like this before. If you have watched the movie Jesus Revolution, a generation that seemed lost turned to Christ, which started a worldwide movement. What needs to be shared is that it also fueled a missions movement.

In the 1970s Youth with A Mission (YWAM) was 10 years old. YWAM was positioned to receive these youth and mobilize them for missions when the revival broke out. You can read some of that story in Floyd McClung’s book “Living on the Devil’s Doorstep” when he led these youth to Kabul, Afghanistan.

I believe we are seeing the same thing now. God spoke clearly about our calling to move to Lynchburg to pioneer a new YWAM location. In the process, he has led us in relationships with college students, and we believe God has called us to disciple them and mobilize them for missions. We are facilitating a short-term missions trip for students leaving for South Africa in May. Also, we are opening a student dorm that will be a discipling community that will host students from the nations and going into the nations.
