I spent a few days inYWAM Antipolo in a rescue and relief training done by Rescue and Relief International To have this kind of training has been something in my heart that was highlighted when Typhoon Haiyan hit. Every year the Philippines gets hit with typhoons along with strong rains. I have been in a number of floods and experienced earthquakes. Also, the Philippines support a few active volcanoes. YWAM Philippines needs a better response when it comes to national disasters. This training is one of the first steps to see that happen. Not saying we didn't do a lot to help those affected by Typhoon Haiyan. Actually I believe it was the best response to a national disaster. We sure learned a lot and also became aware that we need to know more. We learned some very basic tools to help us respond. We learned how to make a splint, take a pulse and how to control bleeding. Now it was some very simple things but it can save lives. Currently, YWAM Philippines are making plans to have more of this type of training to take place in the Philippines.
