Update on COVID-19 and YWAM Richmond and Requested Prayer

All of our lives changed in the past couple of weeks or months depending on where you live. Here is what is happening in YWAM Richmond.

On the day when this was hitting, we had 16 English Language and Culture (ELC) students fly in from outside of the country. Most of them came from Latin America. Now they are in a place where all of their home countries have closed their borders and can't get home. Having a bunch of people living together in a time like this is exceptionally challenging. So here is our game plan.

We have divided our staff from on-base staff and off-base staff. All on-base staff and students are quarantined. No one living on base will be allowed to leave the base. The off base staff will not be allowed to go on the base for any reason unless it is for a food/ supply drop off in on-base we are calling a "hot zone." This hot zone is a building on our property where we will do a drop-off, sanitize the drop-off, and then leave with no physical contact with on-base people. After a while then the on-base people will come and pick up the drop-off.

My role (Dustin), will be food pick up. This is by far the job that has the most exposure. I will be doing my best to protect myself and my family by wearing gloves and a face mask. Also when I enter my home I will change my clothes at the door, shower, and sanitize my footwear and anything else I bring in. Unlike any other time, please pray for good health for my family and me.
Also, I am sure you understand that our support has dropped during this time. I totally get it. We are all being hit. But if you could give an extra gift more now then before, it is will be highly appreciated. You can donate by clicking here. May God bless you as in Philippians 4:19.

I do believe that this is a time where God is moving and we have a rule in it. Please take the time to read my short blog about that by clicking here.

Stay safe. If you don't have to go into the public, then don't. If you are above 55 and/or have underlining health issues please stay home. Ask someone to go get food and supplies for you. I know we like to do things for ourselves. This is the time we need to support each other.

Please do reach out to us. We want to hear from you. Let us know how we can pray for you.
Thank you so much for standing by us.
In His service,

Dustin & Haydee along with Michaella, Lemuel, and Justin

Prayer Points:

  • Safety for all the off-base staff who are getting supplies for that on-base.
  • That the COVID-19 does not enter our YWAM Richmond community.
  • Pray for the safety of our family.
  • Pray for the nations of the world and your countries' leaders as they make decisions.

Word of Encouragement during this time of COVID_19

I believe we need to walk in wisdom, but not fear. This can be a time where the the body of Christ can reach out to others or pull back. I see three things we need to do.
  1. Strengthen or relationship with God. Spend time in solitude with God. this is something we struggle with in American culture. This is an opportunity to grow deeper in our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
  2. Strengthen our relationship with each other. This is not only a time we spend time with our families, but also make sure how we are doing as a church body. Call each other and pray for each other. Share how you are doing. Connect! Let us also make sure that we can come together to help those in need. Let us look for ways that the older and vulnerable don't have to leave their homes. If you are in that category, please reach out to us. We need to help one another.
  3. Strengthen our relationship with the lost. People are looking for hope and comfort. This is something we can offer. Share our online services. Also if they are older and vulnerable, please make sure that they are taken care of. Help meet them in their need!
Please stay in touch.

Grace and peace,
Dustin Campbell
